Your Guide to Shoe Comfort

All Munro American shoes are designed and produced to give you incredible comfort – all day, on all surfaces, for all occasions. This is achieved through the integration of design, materials and manufacturing elements. Below, we highlight the main ones you should consider when choosing your footwear.

Last All Munro American shoes are made on a combination last. This means the heel is narrower than the toe. A last is the plastic mold on which we make our shoes, and the last design determines how a shoe fits your foot – including numerous characteristics from the shape of the toe to the height of the heel to the depth of the instep. One of the many things that make our shoes truly special is the unique design of our lasts, developed from our 45 years of manufacturing experience.

Heel Height Heel height, the focus of much discussion, also influences comfort. Some women need a higher heel due to a contracted Achilles tendon or plantar fasciitis. Many of our customers have their heel height prescribed by their doctors.
When it comes to heel height, looks can be deceiving. You probably think of heel height as how high your heel is above the ground. What you really need to know is the “last height,” which measures the elevation of the heel of your foot over the ball of your foot. The heel height number listed in our catalog indicates last height. We want you to make the right choices for yourself. Please ask your fit professional for more information.

Superior Materials We use latex and polyurethane outsoles, comfort footbeds and super-soft leathers together with specialized manufacturing techniques so that all our styles are amazingly comfortable.

FINDING YOUR
STYLE IN YOUR SIZE

At Munro, we don’t sell directly to consumers – but we do everything possible to help you find the shoes you want through a qualified and approved retail outlet.

With 75 different combinations, we offer one of the largest selections of sizes and widths available – and that’s why, when correctly fit, our shoes feel great!

Width Sizes
SS (AAAA) 7 through 12, whole/half sizes
N (AA) 6 through 12, whole/half sizes, 13
M (B) 4 through 12, whole/half sizes, 13, 14
W (D) 5 through 12, whole/half sizes, 13
WW (EE) 5 through 12, whole/half sizes

Keep in mind that shoes may sell out and certain styles might not be carried over into the next season. Not all of our shoes will be available in all sizes, widths and colors at all times. To find out if a particular shoe comes in your size, e-mail us at munrocs@munroshoe.com and one of our customer service associates will be happy to help you.

We encourage you to have your feet professionally fit and to try on your shoes before purchasing.

THE FACTS ABOUT
CORRECT FIT

Finding shoes that fit correctly doesn’t have to be a guessing game. Here are a few facts that can help you take action to ensure a proper fit.

  • Fact: According to surveys conducted by the American Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Society, many foot problems are at least partially caused by improperly fitting footwear.
  • Action: Always visit a full-service retailer for professional foot measuring and fitting.

  • Fact: Your feet change size and/or width throughout your lifetime.
  • Action: Have your feet measured using a Brannock or similar device at least once every year.

  • Fact: For many people, the right and left feet are different sizes.
  • Action: Fit shoes to your larger foot, then use orthotics and/or padding to adjust the fit on the smaller foot.

At Munro, we make every effort to maintain the standards of our sizes. But because a flat shoe must be constructed very differently from one with a heel, shoes made on different lasts may fit you differently. If you enjoy the fit of a particular shoe, styles made from the same numbered last will most likely be as comfortable.
We always recommend trying on your Munro American shoes before buying to ensure Proper Size / Perfect Fit ... every time.
